Mozambique Visa Guide

Visa Types

  • Tourist Visa: For tourism or leisure purposes.
  • Business Visa: For business meetings, conferences, or investment activities.
  • Work Visa: For employment in Mozambique.
  • Student Visa: For studies at recognized educational institutions.
  • Dependent Visa: For spouses, children, or other dependents of visa holders.

Required Documents

For All Visa Types:

  • Valid passport with at least 6 months of validity beyond intended departure from Mozambique.
  • Completed visa application form.
  • Two passport-sized photographs.
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter).
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay (bank statement or credit card).
  • Return flight ticket or itinerary.

For Tourist Visas:

  • No additional documents required.

For Business Visas:

  • Invitation letter from a Mozambican company or organization.
  • Proof of business purpose (e.g., meeting agenda, conference registration).

For Work Visas:

  • Employment contract.
  • Letter of authorization from the Mozambican employer.

For Student Visas:

  • Letter of acceptance from a recognized educational institution.
  • Proof of enrollment or registration.

For Dependent Visas:

  • Proof of relationship to the primary visa holder (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate).
  • Copy of the primary visa holder’s passport and visa.

Application Procedures

Online Application:

  • For tourist visas only, online applications can be made through the Mozambique eVisa portal: https://evisa.gov.mz/

Embassy or Consulate Application:

  • For all other visa types, applications must be submitted in person or by mail to the nearest Mozambican embassy or consulate.

Fees

  • Tourist Visa: $50-$100 depending on nationality.
  • Business Visa: $100-$200.
  • Work Visa: $300-$500.
  • Student Visa: $100-$200.
  • Dependent Visa: $50-$100.

Timelines

  • Tourist Visas: Online applications typically take 3-5 business days for processing. Embassy applications may take longer.
  • Business, Work, and Student Visas: Processing times vary depending on the embassy or consulate and the type of visa requested. Expect 2-4 weeks for embassy applications.
  • Dependent Visas: Processing times are typically shorter than for primary visa holders.

Additional Notes

  • Visas are generally issued for the duration of stay requested, with a maximum of 90 days for tourist visas.
