Visa Process for Jersey
Visa Types
British citizens and citizens of the following countries do not require a visa to enter Jersey for short stays (up to 90 days):

All other nationalities require a visa to enter Jersey. There are two main types of visas:
- Visitor Visa: For short-term stays for tourism, visiting family or friends, or business purposes.
- Residence Visa: For long-term stays for work, study, or settlement.
Required Documents
For Visitor Visas:
- Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity
- Completed visa application form
- One passport-sized photograph
- Proof of sufficient funds to support your stay
- Proof of accommodation
- Letter of invitation from a Jersey resident (if applicable)
For Residence Visas:
- Valid passport with at least 12 months remaining validity
- Completed visa application form
- Two passport-sized photographs
- Proof of sufficient funds to support your stay
- Proof of accommodation
- Evidence of employment or study offer in Jersey
- Criminal record check (if applicable)
Application Procedures
Visitor Visas:
- Apply online through the Jersey Immigration website: https://www.gov.je/ApplyForVisa
- Pay the visa fee (ยฃ55) online
- Submit your application and supporting documents electronically
- Await a decision from the Jersey authorities
Residence Visas:
- Apply by post to the Jersey Immigration Service:
- Government of Jersey
- Immigration and Nationality Service
- PO Box 140
- St Helier
- Jersey JE4 8QT
- Include all required documents and a cover letter explaining the purpose of your stay
- Pay the visa fee (varies depending on the visa type)
Fees
- Visitor Visa: ยฃ55
- Residence Visa: ยฃ195-ยฃ495 (depending on the visa type)
Timelines
- Visitor Visas: Typically processed within 10-15 working days
- Residence Visas: Can take several weeks or months to process
Additional Notes
- Visas are not required for transit through Jersey.
- If you are staying in Jersey for more than 90 days, you must register with the States of Jersey Police within 14 days of arrival.
