Visa Process for Kenya
Visa Types
- Single Entry Visa: Allows a single entry into Kenya for a specified period.
- Multiple Entry Visa: Allows multiple entries into Kenya within a specified period.
- Transit Visa: Required for transiting through Kenya if the connecting flight is more than 24 hours later.
- East African Tourist Visa: A single entry visa valid for Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Required Documents
- Passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay.
- Visa Application Form: Completed and signed.
- Two Passport-Size Photos: Recent, color, and with a white background.
- Invitation Letter: From a host in Kenya (for business visas).
- Business Registration Certificate: For business visas.
- Copy of Flight Itinerary: Showing arrival and departure dates.
- Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservation or invitation letter from a host.
- Proof of Financial Means: Bank statement or credit card details.
- Vaccination Certificate: Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travelers from certain countries.
Application Procedures
Online Application:
- Visit the eCitizen portal (https://ecitizen.go.ke/).
- Create an account and log in.
- Click on “Immigration Services” and select “Visa Application.”
- Fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the visa fee.
Embassy/Consulate Application:
- Contact the Kenyan embassy or consulate in your country.
- Obtain a visa application form and submit it along with the required documents.
- Pay the visa fee in person or by bank transfer.
